John Heyman has a series called 'Spring Postcard' that he writes for SI. From what I can tell he randomly selects a team once in a while and writes generic observations about said team. And I mean randomly. He's done two of these articles so far. How he expects to cover the rest of the league in time for opening day I have no idea. In a way I suppose we're spoiled by sites like Yahoo! sports since each columnist has a specific topic they deal with and therefore can cover that topic in depth in a way writers for SI can't. Either way, I'm going to rip into this article about the Rockies (me in regular/John in italics), or at least a part of it:
Spring Postcard: Rockies have look of an annual contender
A vocal veteran starter wouldn't hurt, perhaps someone like John Smoltz or Pedro Martinez, if they'd be willing to come to Colorado. There's a lot of youth in that rotation, and with just a bit of uncertainty surrounding Francis, an extra option wouldn't hurt, either.
No it wouldn't "hurt", but it would seem like a waste of money, a "vocal veteran starter" that is, not an extra option. All teams should have back up plans for their pitching. I just don't know if having a pitcher who rambles like the Queen Mum after two glasses of Riesling is your solution.
That's all I have on this column, it's not actually bad.

I Missed Raw
...intentionally this week. It seemed to me that the builds were already finished. This weeks Raw had the air of putting on a show because they had to legally. Also, I'm planning on taking a respite from wrestling for a couple months after WM. I don't write about wrestling that much anyway, but I do read Meltzer and Alvarez daily and listen to all the shows. I'm kinda burnt out.
